Total Gross Revenue Index of industries went up by 12.7 percent in the fourth quarter of 2010, from a level of 8.0 percent growth in the previous year. Approved FDI plunges by 52.8 percentin Q1 2011
Total foreign direct investments (FDI) approved in the first quarter of 2011 by the four major investment promotion agencies amounted to PhP 22.0 billion, 52.8 percent lower than the FDI approved in Q1 2010. Except for the Board of Investments, the other IPAs namely Clark Development Corporation (CDC), Philippine Economic Zone Authority, and Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) suffered setbacks in FDI applications with SBMA and CDC registering the highest declines of 93.7 and 92.0 percent, respectively.
